Terms of service

The rules for using this site, and the limits of what we promise.

By using DebugYourFinance (the "site"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms are governed by the laws of India.

1. Use of the site

The site is provided for personal, non-commercial reference. You may:

  • Use the calculators, read the blog, and reference card reviews for your own financial decisions.

  • Link to our pages from other sites (no permission needed).

  • Quote short excerpts of our content with attribution and a link back.

You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the site, including card data, blog content, or calculator outputs.

  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our content without written permission.

  • Use our content to train machine learning models without written permission.

  • Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with any other party's use.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its servers, or underlying infrastructure.

  • Frame, mirror, or present our content as if it were your own.

2. Intellectual property

All content on this site — blog posts, card reviews, calculator logic, illustrations, layout, and code — is the property of DebugYourFinance and protected by Indian and international copyright law. The name "DebugYourFinance" and associated branding are our trademarks.

Names of banks, credit cards, and financial products mentioned are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only for identification and factual reference.

3. Not financial advice

The site provides general personal-finance information and calculation tools. Nothing on the site constitutes:

  • Investment advice (we are not SEBI-registered advisors).

  • Tax advice (we are not chartered accountants).

  • Legal advice (we are not lawyers).

  • Any kind of personalised professional guidance.

Before acting on any information you find here, verify it with a qualified professional and the primary source (RBI circulars, CBDT notifications, bank's official terms, etc.). Past returns shown in calculators do not guarantee future returns.

4. Accuracy & timeliness

We make reasonable efforts to verify the information we publish — particularly card fees, reward rates, and tax slabs. Each card detail page shows a "Last verified" date. However, issuers and the government change terms without notice. Always confirm with the official source before making a decision. We are not liable for outdated information.

5. Third-party links

The site contains links to third-party websites (banks, brokers, insurers, aggregators). We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms of service. Some links are affiliate links — see our affiliate disclosure.

6. No warranties

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DebugYourFinance, its owners, and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site — including financial losses, lost profits, or missed opportunities resulting from decisions you make based on site content. If you disagree with this limitation, your sole remedy is to stop using the site.

8. Changes to the site or these terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time without notice. These terms may also be updated — material changes will be noted with a new "last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India. Before initiating any formal proceeding, please email us at hello@debugyourfinance.com — most issues can be resolved quickly by direct communication.

10. Contact

For any questions about these terms, email hello@debugyourfinance.com or see our contact page.
